Investors in People is an employer led and peer recognised standard. The Investors in People brand mark can only be used by organisations that have been successfully recognised as Investors in People.
It is a business improvement tool to help employers improve their performance by linking people development and skills acquisition to the specific aims and objectives of the business, to assess and improve the performance of employers.
The Investors in People standard looks beyond the classroom to the whole workforce and is concerned with a logical and consistent approach to good leadership and management, clear communications, and effective training and development.
It promotes a simple continuous cycle of:
- Plan – develop strategies to achieve improvement.
- Do – implement the strategies.
- Review – evaluate the impact of the strategies.
