Vision & Mission Statement
Vision
Our Vision is one in which Dudley College:
-
Is proactive in serving the needs of the whole of its local community, especially the local economic community;
-
Supports the economic and social and personal development of the individuals and communities within the locality;
- Provides a welcoming, inclusive learning environment where all can take pride in learning and achieving;
- Provides access to learning opportunities at the time and place to suit the learner;
- Is recognised locally, regionally, nationally and internationally as a provider of high quality education and skills training.
The College provides education and training that both underpins economic regeneration and up-skills the local workforce and industry thereby contributing to the economic prosperity of the locality.
The College is and should be an integral part of its local community, most of its staff and learners live, work and socialise within the locality. It commits to the community by extensive partnership working with local schools, the voluntary sector and local businesses.
Dudley College serves its neighbouring geographical areas of the Boroughs of Dudley, Sandwell and Wolverhampton but recognises that the boundaries to its catchment area are diffuse and will vary depending on the client group and partners with whom we work.
We provide learning for career enhancement, for leisure and for personal enhancement, serving the needs of individuals from 14 onwards, supporting the transition from school to work and through life via both the full time and part time routes, helping to embed a culture of lifelong learning within the community. We encourage each learner to achieve his or her maximum potential.
We welcome and support all individuals who wish to join our provision; we celebrate the diversity of our learners and aim to offer an inclusive curriculum, promoting best practice in equal opportunities. To widen the horizons of our learners we will continue to attract learners from the International market to provide a global perspective to our curriculum.
We can not achieve our vision alone but recognise that we need to work in true partnership with local schools, neighbouring colleges, the voluntary and public sector and employers and that this requires openness and trust.
Underpinning our vision is the understanding that we will aim for excellence in all that we do and that we will provide this as effectively and efficiently as possible.
Our mission: outstanding learning which develops skills, raises aspirations and changes lives.
