Governance

Welcome

Dudley College is a public corporation whose members are also known as Governors.

The Board of Governors provides strategic leadership to the College and sets the framework of policies within which the College operates. While day to day management is the responsibility of the Principal and the Directorate, the Governors have a key role in monitoring, challenging and supporting the management team.

Dudley College at present has twelve external Governors, drawn from business, professional, public sector and community backgrounds. They bring a range of vital skills and experience and the ability to form a fresh, objective view of the College. The Board also includes the Principal, two staff Governors and two student Governors. Governors are not paid for their services.

The Board of Governors meets six times a year. It also has specialist Committees, made up of Governors and co-opted members. These carry out detailed work and make recommendations to the Board in the key areas of Finance & Estates, Standards & Diversity, Personnel, Audit and Employer Responsiveness.

Minutes of Corporation and Committee meetings are displayed on this website. Minutes and Corporation agendas and papers are available for inspection at the College through the Clerk to the Corporation.
