Course Fees

Dudley College’s course fees are very competitive when compared to other local providers.

Our full-time tuition fees for 2017/18 are £4,995 per year and cover all classes, online tutorials and some learning materials.

Our part-time fees for 2017/18 start from £2,495.

We are committed to keeping our fees low to enable as many individuals as possible to participate in, and gain the benefits of Higher Education.

Our fees are usually stated per academic year and in some cases your higher education course may span three academic years*. Therefore for clarity:

  • The full cost of a Foundation Degree, delivered over two years, is £12,390.
  • The full cost of a HND, delivered over two years, is £9,990.
  • The full cost of a HNC, delivered over two years, is £4,990.

*For example a HNC starting in January where the first semester is charged in the first academic year, the second and third semesters in the second academic year and the final semester in the third academic year.)

Our finance and welfare officers are here to talk through your unique circumstances and signpost you towards available help ...

Higher Education Loans

Don’t worry – there is lots of financial support available, but in brief you can access:

  • A tuition fee loan which covers your tuition fees in full
  • A maintenance loan for your living costs like rent.

The loans would need to be repaid, but the grant would not.

You will start paying back your loan when you are earning £21,000 per year (£403 per week, £1,750 per month). For example, if you earn £22,000 per year you would pay back £7 per month.

After 30 years from the April after you graduate, any remaining debt is written off. The amount you pay back is determined by what you earn, not what you owe. Full details can be found at: gov.uk/student-financeindex.html or call: 01384 363 363 for more details.

Advanced Learner Loans

The way further education is funded for people aged 19 and over has changed.

Advanced Learner Loans have been introduced by the UK government for learners aged 19 and over studying at Level 3 or Level 4.

If you start one of these courses you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan. These loans help you to pay the fees charged by colleges and training organisations. Alternatively, you could pay for the course out of your own funds, but most learners will qualify for a government loan.

It’s easy to apply, your household income isn’t taken into account and there’s no credit check. You won’t have to pay anything back until your income is over £21,000 a year.

If you’re considering studying, you might be surprised by how affordable it can be.
