The new Tesco store in Dudley and fashion students from Dudley College are putting together an exciting Fashion Showcase evening on Thursday 23 February 2012 at 7pm at the college’s Broadway site. Tickets for the event are now on sale, with all proceeds going to the Alzheimer’s Society and Marie Curie charities.

Dudley College celebrated last week when it was presented with the prestigious unionlearn Quality Award by Dr Pete Waterman, record producer and Patron of the National Skills Academy and Simon Waugh, National Apprenticeships Service Chair. The award was made for Dudley College's Black Country Civil Service Apprenticeship Scheme.

Two talented sport students from Dudley College made such a big impression on the British College's of Sport football selectors they have secured their places in the final squads of 22, for the national match against Australia Schools Football on January 31 at Solihull Moors Football Club.

Dudley Sixth, the new sixth form centre opening in the Dudley Learning Quarter in September 2012, received good news yesterday. The centre is to receive £2m grant funding from the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills. The grant will support the development of specialised Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) resources within the new centre.

Dudley College sports department is celebrating its work with schools from across the borough by hosting a Mini Olympics at Dudley Leisure Centre on Thursday 26 January. The event will involve over 90 children from local primary schools who will compete in teams to win their own Olympic medals.

Students and staff from Dudley College gathered on the roof of Dudley Evolve, the new vocational training centre on Tower Street, to celebrate the 'Topping Out' ceremony where the steel structure of the four-storey development reached its highest point. To celebrate this milestone the final bolt was positioned in the steel structure and Christmas tree lights were switched on to mark the festive season at 11.00am on Wednesday 14 December.

Ross Ensor, an award-winning sports student from Dudley College, has been named as one of the 8,000 inspirational people who will carry the Olympic Flame during its 70-day journey around the UK. Ross, from Wall Heath, has been allocated a Torch Relay slot between Derby and Birmingham on Saturday 30 June.
