Jo Bull appointed Headteacher of High Arcal School
The newly formed Dudley Academies Trust (DAT), which is under the sponsorship of Dudley College of Technology, has made another key appointment with the engagement of Jo Bull, to the role of Headteacher: High Arcal School. Jo, who is currently Interim Headteacher, will take up the post with immediate effect.
Mrs Bull has worked at High Arcal School, which is based in the Sedgley area of the Dudley borough, for eleven years and has been the Interim Headteacher since April 2016.
Commenting on the appointment Jo Higgins; Chief Executive Officer of the DAT said: “I am pleased to be able to confirm the appointment of Jo Bull to the post of Headteacher: High Arcal school, as I believe this will provide the stable and thoughtful leadership the school needs to drive through a substantial improvement programme for the future.” Going further Ms Higgins said: “The DAT has a transformational agenda, which is aimed at raising the outcomes for learners across all of its schools, so Jo’s role will be critical to driving positive change. In the last year she has already laid down solid foundations which she now has the mandate to build on.
Expressing her own delight at the appointment Mrs Bull said: “I’m very proud to be given the opportunity to further my work at the school I love. My intention is to build on our current Ofsted “good” rating and take the school from good to great. Our pupils’ wellbeing is at the heart of what we do and I’ll work tirelessly to ensure everyone achieves their maximum potential.”

Mrs Bull originally trained in languages at the University of London and completed a PGCE at the University of York before embarking on a teaching career. She moved to Dudley in 2001 to take up a role at Crestwood school then moved to High Arcal in 2006 where she has risen through the ranks previously holding senior roles as Assistant Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher.
