Latest on-line learning

by Dudley College on 21 September 2010 01:00

Dudley College is proud to be the first college in Europe to offer the latest on-line learning environment for their students. This new e-learning system is just part of a suite of software and tools which all students at the college now receive upon enrolment.

Information Technology has always been an important part of teaching and the college is committed to providing their students with first class e-learning tools to support their studies both on and off site.

This latest learning environment offers students online access to engaging course materials from wherever they are as well as being able to collaborate with other learners, submit work and track their progress.

This investment led to the College moving to Blackboard 9.1 - the latest next generation of online learning tools.  This achievement led to them being invited by Blackboard to speak at their World Conference in Florida this year.

Neil Thomas Performance Systems Manager said, "We now offer an unrivalled suite of e-learning tools for our students. The upgrade to Blackboard software means tutors create really engaging online content for students and that students can engage with their learning from wherever they are."

The college has also formed an agreement with Microsoft to give all their students a Live@Edu account. Live@Edu gives every student an e-mail address accessible via Microsoft websites.  Neil went on to say: "The combination of our new suite of e-learning tools and our range of IT hardware in the college means we feel we are really giving our students the best IT package we can to support their studies."

To see how the online learning environment works come along to the Open Day on Saturday November 13 or call Student Services on 01384 363363 or visit our website - www.dudleycol.ac.uk to see the range of courses on offer at Dudley College.
