The role involves hands-on experience in manufacturing switchboard enclosures from sheet steel, including punching, folding, and fabrication processes carried out in-house. This provides a practical foundation in engineering, production techniques, and industry standards within a specialist electrical manufacturing environment.

The apprentice will gain hands-on experience supporting a wide range of painting and decorating activities across the University of Birmingham campus. Alongside this practical work, they will attend Dudley College to develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to successfully complete the apprenticeship standard.
