About this course

The course has been designed to move away from the academic rigour of traditional HE models and mimic more of a working environment. It is suited to those who want the guidance and mentorship required to take their film careers to the next level.

What are the entry requirements?

The course is designed to be done after A levels or a BTEC National Extended Diploma. You should therefore have already achieved one of the following in order to apply:

1 full A Level or 2 AS Levels in a Media or Film related subject.
OR
BTEC National Extended Diploma in a Media or Film related subject.

You will have an interview to which you will need to bring a portfolio of work and be prepared to discuss your aims and ambitions for a career in film production. Applications from learners who have been out of education for some time are also welcome but you will need to have a portfolio of work that demonstrates your current skills and ability.

Course assessment

You need to pass each stage of the course in order to progress. The mark you get for this final stage will constitute your overall grade for the course, a pass, merit or distinction.
