Dudley College’s International Department has been building relationships with Europe for a number of years, and so we were recently pleased to welcome a number of visitors from Valencia in Spain.
Staff from the Xabec Professional Training Centre came to Dudley to develop their English skills and to observe and discuss teaching and student support. During the visit we also discussed the possibility of developing exchanges for staff and students, which will form part of our new international strategy. All visits were funded by the EU's Leonardo programme, which promotes exchanges between vocational trainers and students throughout Europe.
Six staff travelled to the college following an earlier visit by our Electrical Installation and Engineering staff to Xabec, which saw our colleagues experiencing a range of technologies and facilities related to renewable energy, particularly solar power.
Feedback from all the visits has been overwhelmingly positive, and we hope to welcome more of our colleagues from Xabec to the college in the near future!
