Black Country Chamber & Colleges Showcase Apprenticeships
The Black Country Chamber of Commerce is working with local college Patrons to showcase apprenticeships in the region during National Apprentice Week. Running from Monday 11th March until Friday 15th March 2013, Apprenticeship Week is designed to celebrate Apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on individuals, businesses and the local economy.
Dudley, Sandwell, Stourbridge, Wolverhampton and Walsall Colleges will all be running exciting apprenticeship events and skills competitions during the week between 10.00 am and 1.00 pm. Local schools have been invited to visit to see what kind of apprenticeships are on offer, how apprenticeships can benefit businesses in the borough and how they address skills shortages in the region.
Paul Bennett, President of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce, said: "Apprenticeship Week is designed to raise the profile of apprenticeships amongst employers, teachers, parents and school pupils and it's also a great time to celebrate apprentices' achievements. Our aim is to provide some fun activities for school pupils to engage in, whilst at the same time showcasing the possibilities for career paths in the future."
