Open Day

Broadway MonolithDudley College is opening the doors of Dudley Evolve, its new vocational training centre on Tower Street, as well as its existing campus on the Broadway and the Motor Vehicle Centre on Wolverhampton Street, to prospective students on Saturday 10th November from 10am - 2pm. If you are leaving school next summer the Open Day is a perfect opportunity to visit the Learning Quarter, the new campus in the centre of Dudley, which offers learners from across the borough access to unrivalled new facilities and skills development opportunities.

Visitors will be able to have a look at the state-of-the-art learning environments with the latest technology, easy-to-access resources to support study, and lively, modern places for students to relax during their free lesson time, including the new sports hall, fitness suite, theatre and hair and beauty salon in Evolve.

The college offers a wide range and work-related courses at different levels, so whatever your grades, we'll have something to suit you. You can also find out about Apprenticeships which give you the opportunity to study for a qualification whilst working and earning.

With lots of demos and opportunities to try out a trade, visitors will be able to have a go at being an air steward on our very own airplane, try out our Apple Macs design packages, do some 3D modelling and laser cutting with our engineering department or test their fitness levels with a workout in the college fitness suite. Staff from our hair and beauty department will help you try out your styling skills, and the college construction team have laid on demonstrations so you can try your hand at many of the trades they offer courses in.

If you are looking to study A levels, then the new Dudley Sixth on Ednam Road will also be open. Dudley Sixth has an unashamed focus on academic excellence by offering over thirty-five AS and A2 levels in a range of different subjects, from maths to media, languages to law and sports to science, backed up by outstanding support and teaching. Students studying at Dudley Sixth will also have access to the sport resources, theatre and other facilities housed within Dudley Learning Quarter, the new campus area in the centre of the town.

Bob Chapman, Director of Learning at the college said "Our Open Days are always popular as they are a great way of finding out first hand what's on offer at the college. I'd encourage anyone who's considering their options to call in on Saturday and find out what vocational training and A levels we offer. The Open Day is very informal and parents, family and friends are more than welcome to come along."
