Dudley Worldwide Working In Perfect Partnership
Dudley College has been visited by the winners of Libya's young enterprise award as part of its work with the British Council.
The delegates, who competed on a local, regional and national level, saw their entrepreneurial skills rewarded with a visit to the UK. While in the country, they visited local companies to see first-hand how their skills could be put into practice.
One of the winners established a successful restaurant in Libya, while another was in the processing of opening a networking business.
One of the companies visited while in the UK was Walsall-based cake manufacturer Perfection Foods who currently export their products to Libya. Organised by UK Trade and Investment, the winners were given a tour of the business and saw the different marketing strategies used by the company to expand the business to a phenomenal level over the last year.
International Operations Manager Krishna Singh said "It's a wonderful experience for the college to host delegations from all over the world, providing us with the opportunity to exchange ideas and share good practice."
The visit was part of a British Council project to provide online small business development training and trainee mentoring in Libya. As a result of their excellent experience, two of the delegates have applied for an intensive English language programme at the college in November.
