Make your spare room work for you!

The number of international students choosing to study at Dudley College is on the increase and the search is on to find more local families, couples and people living on their own who can provide accommodation for them. The college's international team is seeking to recruit more friendly host families living close to the college so they can offer the new students from Europe and beyond a hospitable place to stay.

The college already works with over 20 Homestay families, who receive £450 per month to cover the cost of food and bills. Many of the students stay for the academic year but others visiting for only a short time still need somewhere to stay.

Krishna Singh, International Operations Manager at Dudley College explained "We have students from all over the world studying at the college and we make them feel as welcome as possible. Lots of families already provide lodgings for our students, but as our numbers are increasing we need to find more host families.

"Our international students are a long way from home, so we look for families who can welcome them into their homes. This gives the students a real taste of life in the Black Country and host families get to learn about the customs and cultures of other countries. If you have a spare room and would like to look after young people from overseas on a short or long stay we'd love to hear from you."

Homestay host families need to be CRB checked and have an annual Gas Safe Certificate. For more information please contact the Dudley College Accommodation team on 01384 363 246 or email
