College duo selected for England match
Two talented sport students from Dudley College made such a big impression on the British College's of Sport football selectors they have secured their places in the final squads of 22, for the national match against Australia Schools Football on January 31 at Solihull Moors Football Club.
Rory Davies (17) from Dudley and Lyndsey Glover (18) from Cosely are both studying BTEC sport at the college and have a proven track record playing football. Lyndsey is a seasoned pro having won 3 caps last year and hopes to add Australia, New Zealand and Estonia to her already impressive CV during this campaign.
For Rory it is a whole new experience and he is really excited with the prospect of pulling on the 3 Lions shirt. "It is a dream to play for your country and I am one step away from making this a reality. I have been in good form for the College side and the coaches at Dudley really believe in me and have pushed me hard to reach this level. I now want to pull the shirt on and score for my Country."
Sports Development Manager Simon King added "It is a remarkable achievement for our football programme to produce two more England players this year. This is the third year running that Dudley will have International footballers and shows that we really are doing things right. Both the students and our coaching staff deserve enormous credit, this is a truly special honour and we know both Lyndsey and Rory will do themselves and Dudley College proud."
