Students bring back both gold and silver medals

Two talented Beauty students studying at Dudley College have won gold and silver medals in the UKSkills Regional Finals held in Bristol for Advanced Beauty Therapy competition.

Surbjit Balu age 37 from Hockley who won gold and Angaline Blakesley age 19 from Dudley who won silver were both absolutely delighted. Surbjit Balu and Angaline Blakesley

Surbjit said: 'The competition was challenging and we were up against some strong competition.  To think we have won both gold and silver medals is amazing we are very proud of ourselves and would like to thank the tutors at Dudley College for all their support.'

The 18 competitors who took part had to show a variety of skills including; massage and body and facial electrotherapy treatments, all to be completed in 3 hours. 

'The aim of the competition is to raise standards by encouraging students to strive for excellence.  Both Surbjit and Angalina have worked very hard to win these medals and thoroughly deserve the recognition and have proved to be excellent ambassadors for the college' said tutor Sally Cowell.
