Dudley College held a double celebration on Friday 25th March to mark the 75th anniversary of the Broadway Campus and the commencement of work on the new vocational centre, Dudley Evolve.
Over 300 current students, guests and ex-students of the college shared their experiences, with current students dressed in period style costumes to represent the fashions through the ages that the campus has seen. Amongst the ex-students was 93 year old Ron Baker, who studied 'Clothes Design and Tailoring' at the Broadway Campus when it opened in 1936 who was keen to meet up with current fashion students.
Invited guests and dignitaries were greeted and taken into the hall for entertainment from current music and theatre students whilst viewing displays of past, present and future images of the college.
Lowell Williams, Principal started with a short welcome and then students from the public service course led a procession of dignitaries and guests from the Broadway Campus to the 'new build site' where a balloon release marked the occasion.
At the end of the event ex-students talked with other past students to reminisce and exchange stories of their time at the college.
