Donations to local charity
Kind hearted staff at Dudley College have donated over 270 toys in time for Christmas to the children's charity Acorns Hospice. The college has been busy for the last few weeks collecting the gifts which were left at each campus and then handed over to the Hospice.
This is the 7th year that the college has supported the charity which relies on fundraising for the majority of its income.
Alan Evans lecturer for Mechanical Services who organises the event every year said: "We have supported the charity for many years through the donation of Christmas gifts for the children. It has become a tradition here at Dudley College and each year we hand over more and more gifts which is fantastic."
Alan went on to say: "Staff are asked to donate new and unwrapped toys and knowing that the gifts we give contribute towards giving the children something to look forward to during this festive season is most rewarding."
Acorns Children's Hospice provides care and support for children and young people who have life limiting or life threatening conditions.
