Student sparkles at ceremony

Stephen HodgettsAn Apprentice from Dudley College has been successful in the Summit Skills Regional Training Awards in the Electronic Engineer section.

Stephen Hodgetts age 20 from BEST now in his 3rd year of his Apprenticeship is thrilled to have won Electrotechnical Apprentice of the year.  The ceremony which was held at West Bromwich Albion Football Club celebrated the best trainees and engineers from across the region.

The competition was open to all students training on Engineering Apprenticeships, with candidates performing a selection of tasks drawn from roles within their companies.

Stephen who works for Carter Synergy Ltd was nominated by his tutor Phil Hollyhead who said, "Stephen is a committed student who always strives for excellence.  Competitions like this are a good way for students to develop and improve their level of skills and abilities."

Stephen said, "I was thrilled to have won the award.  I would like to thank my tutor Phil for nominating me and supporting me throughout my studies at Dudley College."
