Kind hearted staff and students at Dudley College have helped to make learning more fun at Bromley Hills Primary School by making a giant sandpit for the nursery children.
The children can now enjoy a day at the seaside by just jumping in their new sandpit which measures over four meters and holds ten tonnes of sand. The site has been designed and built by Dudley College construction students as part of the Foundation Unit's Great Outdoor Project, which aims to develop outdoor grounds for nought to five year olds.
Michael Littlehales tutor at Dudley College said, "The students have thoroughly enjoyed working on this project and have gained valuable experience. We hope the children will also have a positive learning experience from playing in their new sandpit."
The school has also received help from HSS Hire Shop, which donated a mechanical digger free of charge, and OCL Kingswinford which provided building materials.
Maggie Hickman, childcare manager at Bromley Hills said, We are so grateful for all the help we have received, particularly the college students who have done a fantastic job building sandpit. This will be a great addition to our outside learning environment, adding a stimulating aspect to children's play."
