New Access to HE Diploma Sport Science / Coaching starting in April

Dudley College is delighted to launch a new Access to HE Diploma Sport Science / Coaching starting in April 2017.

The course is designed to enable learners who have been out of education for some time and that may have few or no qualifications to gain entry to Higher Education once they have achieved the Access to HE Diploma.

The aims of the course are to develop academic skills and knowledge to progress onto Higher Education at college or university or go into employment.

Assessment of the course will be through:

• Professional Reports
• In-class Assessments
• Presentations
• Individual / Paired / Group Projects
• Presentations
• Practical observations

Entry requirements for the course are preferably GCSE English and Maths at grade A* to C or a Level 2 Functional Skills English and Maths.

Where candidates only have 1 GCSE the second one can be studied alongside the Access to HE Diploma.

OCNWMR have contacted and visited the following Higher Education Institutions, who have given their support with progression opportunities upon successful completion of the Access to HE Diploma Sport Science/ Coaching:
• Birmingham City University
• Coventry University
• Keele University
• Staffordshire University
• University of Birmingham
• University of Wolverhampton
• University of Worcester

Course fees are £3,384.00 and an Advanced Learner Loan has been introduced by the UK government for learners aged 19 and over studying at Level 3 or Level 4.

It's easy to apply, your household income isn't taken into account and there's no credit check. You won't have to pay anything back until your income is over £21,000 a year.

If you complete your access programme and then go on to complete a degree at university your loan for the access course will be written off altogether.
