Dudley College of Technology hosts British Council skills event
Earlier this month (November) the college played host to two important groups of visitors. The first were delegates from Pakistan, Nigeria, Bangladesh and Ghana who were part of a British Council initiative and the second a group from the Indian Skills Ministry supported by the Association of Colleges (AoC).
Our international guests enjoyed visits to some of the companies we work with, followed by a tour of the Learning Quarter, with their day culminating in a celebratory dinner.
Dignitaries were entertained by dance and musical theatre students, our hospitality and catering students provided a wonderful three course meal and travel and tourism students were on hand to make sure everything ran smoothly.
The British Council’s Global Skills Lead, Tracy Ferrier and the Director General, National Skill Development Agency India, Mr Rajesh Kumar Chaturvedi, addressed delegates and praised our partnerships with the hope we will continue to build on these for the future.
Strengthening our existing international partnerships and building new ones, is a key part of the college’s Strategic Plan and we very much look forward to developing a range of exciting skills initiatives on the back of this visit.
