Over 200 guests including thirty students their families, friends and staff who have played a part in their success came together on Friday evening to celebrate their outstanding achievements in this year’s Celebrating Success gala event.
Award winners came from across all of the curriculum areas including STEM, Business, IT and Teaching, Service Industries, Technical and Creative and Cross College programmes and represented the full diversity of our student body – each with their own personal narrative as to how they had succeeded on their learning journey.
College Principal Neil Thomas hosted the event alongside College Vice Principal Diana Martin and Lowell Williams: Chief Executive Officer, Dudley College of Technology/Chair of the Board of Dudley Academies Trust was on hand to present the awards to the winners.
Students from our Musical Theatre, Dance and Music Technology courses provided pre-event entertainment under the supervision of Tutor: Matthew Dudley and provided a stunning finale to the evening with show stopping performances of two numbers from The Greatest Showman, directed and choreographed by Tutors: Stephen Dutton and Rachel James.
Commenting on the evening Neil Thomas College Principal said: “This is one of my favourite events of the year as it embodies what we are all about, in giving young people and adults life-opportunities through the education we provide for them. Whilst the impact on each individual is not always quantifiable it is no less real, as I am sure everyone present could see and feel. It’s marvellous to see so many people achieving and we are glad we can recognise their efforts in this small way.”
The names of all award winners can be found in the event programme and if you want to enjoy more of the pictures visit the event Flickr album.
