Dudley College of Technology is disappointed to announce that we are discontinuing our work with Colleges of Excellence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. On-going delays in receiving timely contractual payments have lead us to reach this difficult decision. It is a great shame as our work in Saudi Arabia has been both profitable and impactful, especially on the lives of young women in the Kingdom.

With students graduating in over 30 programmes of study, staff, family, friends and members of the college’s corporation all came together to share in their success.

Black Country MPs and Principals celebrate College’s Week and call for fair funding of FE

The Principals of the six colleges in the Black Country came together today with their local MPs to celebrate the valuable work that is being done in the further education (FE) sector to transform the skills of young people and adults living across the local area. The meeting was the culmination of a range of activities locally and nationally which have been part of the Association of Colleges (AoC) campaign, under the umbrella title of the “Love our Colleges” which has called on government to invest more in colleges and their staff.

Students celebrating their successOver 200 guests including thirty students their families, friends and staff who have played a part in their success came together on Friday evening to celebrate their outstanding achievements in this year’s Celebrating Success gala event.

Award winners came from across all of the curriculum areas including STEM, Business, IT and Teaching, Service Industries, Technical and Creative and Cross College programmes and represented the full diversity of our student body – each with their own personal narrative as to how they had succeeded on their learning journey.

Students celebrating their successStaff and students of Dudley Sixth celebrated the achievements of learners in their annual awards ceremony yesterday evening. Thirty two individual winners were nominated for awards, reflecting the breadth of A Level provision at the college. Awards recognised outstanding individual performance and effort by learners during their A level studies.

College celebrates successful GCSE retake results

(l-r) Elodie Dudfield and Catherine Massey grades 4 and 6Dudley College of Technology is celebrating another successful year of helping hundreds of learners to secure successful grades in their GCSE resits (grade 9-4 / as was A* -C),  with 49% of learners achieving these grades in mathematics, and 67% in English. This year saw all subjects assessed under the new examination system which sees all results grade on a scale of 9 -1 with grade 4 being equivalent to the grade C which is traditionally seen as a pass.

Top A level results for Dudley Sixth students

Dudley Sixth College students have again excelled in their A Level studies, with an overall pass rate of 98%, which is above the national average and shows a consistent picture with last year’s results. Most pleasingly this year also saw a 5% increase on 2017 of the number of entries obtaining high grades (A*-C).

Lowell Williams Chief Executive Officer of Dudley College of Technology and Chair of the Board of Dudley Academies Trust today welcomed Rt Hon Damian Hinds MP – Secretary of State for Education and Andy Street West Midlands Mayor to the college for the launch of the West Midlands skills deal.
