Team Dudley, Priory Road 3G Football Complex
Dudley College of Technology's new Priory Road 3G Football Complex was officially opened for business by Ian Austin, MP on the 2nd December 2016. The £1.3m investment in an all-weather complex with the installation of a third generation (3G) artificial grass pitch (AGP) will be available for use by both "Team Dudley", the College’s home team and local community users.
The facility, which includes changing facilities for players and officials, as well as a stand area for spectators has the added benefit of being floodlit so games can be played up until 9.00pm weekdays.
The new complex has been brought about after the college secured £874,030 grant from the Premier League & The FA Facilities Fund which is delivered by the Football Foundation the country's largest sports charity.
The Football Foundation in partnership with Birmingham FA and Dudley College has compiled a five-year Football Development Plan for the site with an emphasis on increasing participation. As part of the plan the site will be used by The Albion Foundation to deliver a Player Development Centre, and to increase engagement from under-represented groups.
Partner club Wrens Nest FC and Team Dudley, along with The Albion Foundation, will contribute to an increase from four to 38 teams on site over the five-year period. College programmes such as Team16/19, Mash Up and a small-sided league will all add to the growth in participation on site.
