The creative industries cover a range of subjects incorporating art and design, graphic design, fashion and textiles, games design, media, music, performing arts and dance.

Whatever your creative passion, you will be given the opportunity to hone your talent and explore your creativity. Our courses will give you the ability and confidence to help you stand out in these competitive industries and our lecturers will share their expertise and support you every step of the way.

Art and design at Dudley College offers you the exciting opportunity to develop and realise your creative ideas and concepts in a visual form. In gaining advanced skills across a range of artistic fields, you will be well prepared to consider employment in a variety of roles and professions. The courses will introduce you to a wide variety of artistic disciplines and a range of visual communication design, enabling you to find an area you are passionate about to specialise in.

If you study music or performing arts, you will have the chance to get involved in a whole host of productions and performances throughout the year. The Evolve Theatre is used by performing arts students who want to get a real feel for treading the boards, as well as the community, who can enjoy touring plays, performances and gigs.

Equipped with the latest sound, lighting, stage and front-of-house equipment and services, the theatre seats 180 people. There are two dance studios and a drama studio where students can rehearse and a theatre production area where stage sets can be designed and constructed. A sound-proof recording studio with mixer decks and practice area completes the range of exciting facilities which performing arts and music students can use.

The art and design facilities are spread across four levels of the Evolve campus. The glass and ceramic studio is fully equipped with kilns and furnaces, whilst the top floor is home to all the art and design disciplines the college offers. A photographic studio, video editing suite and darkrooms give media students full access to a myriad of exciting equipment to support their studies. The screen printing, fashion and textiles area has lots of natural light, large work tables and specialist wet and dry areas while those studying graphics and game design will use the Apple Macs studios and industry recognised software to build up their skills and knowledge.

We offer the experience of studying in a professional environment so that when you complete your studies you can transition into employment and turn a passion into a career. Our students go on to achieve success in a wide range of roles in the creative industries, from performers to technicians, composers to designers, film-makers to fine artists. You can join the success!
