At Dudley College, we are dedicated to transforming lives by equipping all our learners with the skills needed in the workplace.
We work with a number of local employers who provide Supported Internships to learners with Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans. They help young people to develop the skills, confidence and overall wellbeing, boosting their chances of finding long term employment.
Interns spend around 70% of their time in the workplace, gaining practical skills and experience. They are supported by a trained job coach who assists both the intern and the employer, ensuring a smooth integration and productive work environment.
Internships are tailored to meet real business needs, providing employers with motivated and capable interns who can contribute meaningfully to the workplace. The ultimate goal is to transition interns into paid employment, either within your organisation or elsewhere, with your support and recommendations.
Benefits to Employers
- Enhanced Workforce: Interns bring fresh perspectives and enthusiasm, contributing to a dynamic and inclusive workplace
- Support and Training: Employers receive guidance and support from our job coaches, making the process seamless and beneficial
- Corporate Social Responsibility: Demonstrating a commitment to equality and diversity, supported internships enhance your company’s reputation and community standing.
