Course Summary

These qualifications are for learners wishing to gain some understanding and practical experience of a variety of trades in the construction industry. These qualifications cover a range of hand skills and practical tasks in the following trade areas:

Bricklaying
Carpentry
Plastering

Course Content

The Construction Multi-Skill Level 1 consists of a range of unit options across a variety of trade areas.

Each unit will include an externally set assessment to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of the unit.

Course Assessment

Continuous assessment throughout the course based on practical observation, portfolio of evidence, written assessments.

Protective clothing, footwear and writing materials are required.

Construction Multi-Skill Level 1 Diploma

Progression

All successful students may have the opportunity to progress onto a Construction Apprenticeship, Trade Diploma or an NVQ Level 2 through the work based evidence route.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements to study for this qualification, but you must demonstrate a genuine interest in this subject, be prepared to follow high standards of behaviour and display a positive attitude to study.

You must be prepared to be working towards GCSE English and GCSE Maths, or a Functional Skill at Entry 3 level or above.

An initial assessment of your English and maths may be required depending on your qualifications to check you have the skills needed to successfully complete this course.
